For the past 6 years I have been building and running inPractice.org. inPractice.org builds and maintains secure web2.0
applications that help glue everyone together (in a good way) in Healthcare Education. Our software now connects over 8000 University staff, students and hospitals
- including the people who work there who give students practice placements so they can hit the ground and help us when they graduate.
They all do amazing work and I love working with them. We now work with different Universities all around the world!
My 15 year expertise is in the Rapid Application Development of Database driven Web based tools and applications such as Facebook Connect, Twitter APIs. I'm fairly agnostic towards programming languages having used C, Java, PHP, Perl and Python at various points in my career.
As a technical Product Development Manager who has always been client facing, I ensure that the development process is pragmatic and focused on delivering what the client/market requirement is - as opposed to "cool stuff we can develop" (although there is definitely a place for that creativity!)
I'm also comfortable being the "technical guy" who can pitch at board level - with a career highlight being a solo pitch to the partners at Redpoint Ventures on Sand Hill Road.
I also specialise in Pattern based Web Development Frameworks that support the Agile/Prototyping development paths.
